A home loan, a growing family or retirement coming closer can change how your cover, super, cashflow and tax fit together. We can help you see how they connect, at one of five offices or by phone or video.

What we advise on
Once any home loan repayments are counted, how much of your income is left for your goals?
A budget built on what comes in and goes out can show how much room there is for savings and your goals.
We can map your income, any loan repayments or rent and your everyday costs into a household budget you can use.
There’s no single buffer that suits every household. We look at your essential costs, income security and available support, then agree on a buffer and a practical way to build it. We don’t forecast interest rates, so if you have a loan, we can test your budget against higher and lower repayments instead.
Together, we’ll work through:
Which goals would you like your money to support over the next few years?
Bringing your goals, income and commitments into a financial plan can show what’s within reach and what to do first.
Together, we can build a financial plan, or Statement of Advice, that joins up your cover, super, debts and goals.
Every financial decision influences the next, so a new home loan can affect your cover, your super and what’s left to invest. We get to know your goals, your income and what matters most to you before we recommend anything, then set out your plan in writing and walk you through it.
Together, we’ll work through:
Does your super fit your plans, at whatever age you are?
Looking at its fees, investments and any cover can show how well your super fits the life you’re planning.
We can review where your super sits, what it costs and how it’s invested, at any age.
When you start a new job, your employer generally pays into your existing super fund unless you choose another; a default fund applies only if you have no fund. From 1 July 2026 the general concessional cap is $32,500, and caps are indexed. We look at your fund’s fees, investments and any cover before considering a change.
Together, we’ll work through:
How could planning around tax fit with your goals?
Thinking about tax alongside your super and investments can show how your income could work towards the life you want.
We can plan tax and set tax structure and strategy with you, alongside an accountant, who prepares and lodges your return.
From 1 July 2027, negative gearing on residential property is limited to new builds, though property held on 12 May 2026 is exempt. For gains accruing after 1 July 2027, the 50% CGT discount is replaced by indexation and a 30% minimum tax. We can plan around those changes with you and an accountant.
Together, we’ll work through:
Would an investment property sit comfortably with the rest of your plans?
Testing the numbers against your budget and goals first can help you decide whether buying suits the life you’re planning.
We’ll look at how an investment property would fit your plan, with a mortgage broker handling the lending.
We look at what an investment property would do to your budget, cover and super, rather than forecasting prices or picking suburbs. Borrowing to invest can magnify losses as well as gains, and the loan must still be repaid if values fall. An accountant confirms the tax on each option.
Together, we’ll work through:
How would you like to spend your days once you stop working?
Working back from the life you want can show what your super, savings and any home could provide.
We can talk through when you’d like to stop work, what you’d live on and where you’d like to live.
Preservation age is 60 for anyone born from 1 July 1964, and super can generally only be accessed once you meet a condition of release, such as ceasing employment at 60 or over. Age Pension asset limits differ for homeowners and non-homeowners, so we look at your housing before you decide to stay, sell or move.
Together, we’ll work through:
If you’ve taken on a bigger home loan, do your cover, super and cashflow still fit it?
Seeing them side by side can show what may help if illness or injury stopped your income.
We’ll start with any loan you hold, then compare and apply for cover with you, and the insurer makes the final decision.
The median home sale price in Greater Sydney was $1,175,000 in the March 2026 quarter. Any loan of your own may be quite different, so we work from your actual figures and budget. Default cover in super may be lower than what you could get outside super, and Moneysmart suggests doing a budget to work out how much income protection you need.

Could a health condition change the cover an insurer offers you?
Our guides explain what insurers may ask about common conditions, and a health condition doesn’t necessarily rule out cover.
We can help you prepare an application with a health condition or past illness, and the insurer decides whether to offer cover.
Is running your own super fund something you’d like to explore?
Talking through the costs, time and duties can help you choose super that suits the years ahead.
Together, we’ll weigh up whether a self-managed fund suits your balance, your time and your goals.
A self-managed fund offers more control over investments, and it brings yearly costs, administration and legal duties as a trustee. Leaving an APRA-regulated fund also means giving up prudential oversight and the option to complain about the fund to AFCA. We look at the choices inside an existing fund alongside it.
Together, we’ll work through:
Where can we meet, and does it have to be in person?
An office visit, a phone call or a video call can all start the same conversation about what matters to you.
We can meet you at one of our five Sydney offices, or by phone or video.
Where no office is nearby, we can meet at another of our offices, or by phone or video.

There’s rarely one right time to sit down with your finances. It might be a new home, a new baby, a change of work or simply a feeling that things have become harder to hold together. We take the time to listen to what you want out of life, explain your options clearly and help you build a financial plan around what matters most to you, from wherever you’re starting.
It could just as easily be retirement coming into view, a home you’ve finally paid off, or plans to sell up and begin somewhere new. Whether you own, rent or are still saving, the people you care about and the life you’d like together belong at the centre of the plan. We can help you plan for the life you’d like now, and work towards the years ahead with more confidence.
Every financial decision impacts the next
Great advice starts with understanding the bigger picture. Every stage of life presents new opportunities and challenges, from buying property and changing careers to growing your family, planning for retirement and protecting what matters most. At Ryker, we help connect every piece of your financial world into one clear strategy.
Your
Wealth

We’re invested in your long-term success. What we do is personal, and we take it personally.
Your financial decisions connect, so we consider the parts of your financial life that are relevant to the advice you need:
This is how we help you make decisions today with your longer-term goals in view.
Everybody’s situation is different, so we listen first, understand what matters to you and explain your options clearly before we make a recommendation.
It can, and that’s where our local knowledge helps. We know Sydney’s local government areas, how property values have moved across the city, its multicultural communities and the opportunities a thriving economy can bring. We have five offices in Sydney, at Sydney CBD, Ingleburn, Seven Hills, Parramatta and Narellan, and clients anywhere in the city can also meet by phone or video.
The rules on super and the Age Pension are national, so they don’t change from suburb to suburb. Your advice starts with your own situation and plans.
There’s no single multiple that suits every loan, so we work it out from your own numbers. We start with what’s still owing on the loan and any other debts, then add what anyone relying on your income would need, and take off what you already have in savings and cover.
We can then compare and apply for cover with you. The insurer decides whether to offer cover and on what terms.
We don’t have an office on the Northern Beaches, so you can meet us at our Day Street office in Sydney, or by phone or video, whichever suits you.
The conversation is the same however we meet. We’ll talk through what’s on your mind, then explain how we can help and what we’ll need to get started.
Your accountant and financial adviser bring different expertise to the same decisions. Your accountant can advise on tax reporting, structures and consequences; we help you plan how cashflow, debt, super, investments and protection work towards your goals. We can coordinate before important decisions.
What an accountant does
What a financial adviser does
Professional roles and authorisations matter. We provide financial advice within our authorisations and work with your accountant for specialist tax advice and lodgements.
Where they work together
It depends on the amount and type of cover, the size of the loan and who relies on your income. Moneysmart notes that default cover may be lower than what you could get outside super, and that eligibility rules can apply.
We can read what your fund provides, compare it with your loan and budget, and look at whether any extra cover suits you, inside or outside super. If you apply, the insurer decides.
We have an office in Parramatta, plus offices at Ingleburn, in the City of Campbelltown, and at Narellan, in the Camden area. Our Seven Hills office is also on the western side of Sydney.
The addresses are in the areas tab above. If a call suits you better, we can also meet by phone or video.
An insurance comparison site can show quotes quickly, based on the questions it asks, and that can be a useful starting point.
Advice looks at how a policy sits with your loan, budget, super and anyone relying on your income. We can read the definitions and conditions, then compare and apply for cover with you. The insurer still decides whether to offer cover and on what terms. Any advice after our initial conversation is a paid service, with its scope and fee agreed with you in writing first.
A financial adviser can help with your budget, savings goals, super, cover and investing, whether you’d like to buy or plan to keep renting. None of that depends on owning a home.
If retirement is closer, renting can also change how the Age Pension assets test applies, because the limits differ for homeowners and non-homeowners. We can work through what you’d like the years ahead to look like and plan from there.
Start with the income you’d like in retirement, then look at how your super, savings and any investments could provide it. Preservation age is 60 for anyone born from 1 July 1964, and super can generally only be accessed once you meet a condition of release, such as ceasing employment at 60 or over.
It can also help to look at:
We can work through these with you.
Start with what the sale could mean for your budget, super and any loan, and what you’d like the money to do next. We can plan that with you before you sign.
If you’re also weighing up keeping the home and renting it out, the ATO says a former home can be treated as your main residence for capital gains tax for up to 6 years if you used it to produce income, such as rent. Conditions apply, so an accountant can confirm your position.
Property taxes and duties can differ between states, so your conveyancer or the state revenue office can confirm them for wherever you’re moving.
There’s no cost for the initial conversation. Any advice after that is a paid service, with its scope and fee agreed with you in writing first.
In that first conversation we’ll explain how we can help and what we’ll need to get started, and you’re welcome to ask anything about how our fees work.
You can meet us at one of our offices or by phone or video. The areas tab above lists the regions we service.
Our services are financial planning and advice, personal insurance, superannuation, SMSF, cashflow and financial wellbeing, tax and wealth strategies, property investment advice, and retirement and aged care. Each one has its own page with more detail, linked from the tabs above.
Lending goes to a mortgage broker, tax returns to an accountant and wills to a solicitor, and we can work alongside them.
Our first conversation starts with what’s on your mind, whether that’s a new home loan, a change in the family or retirement coming into view. Tell us what you’d like the next few years to look like.
There’s no cost for the initial conversation. Any advice after that is a paid service, with its scope and fee agreed with you in writing first. We’ll explain how we can help and what we’ll need to get started, such as the statements and policies you already hold.
